a solidarity collection organized to help the affected family

“It’s a complicated situation,” sighs Maïlyne Grisvard whose family, her mother, her father-in-law, her brother and her sister, have just lost all their possessions in a violent fire that occurred this Saturday in Rupt-sur-.

Despite the intervention of emergency services, the house was completely destroyed. Hospitalized for check-ups, the four residents of the chalet were able to be relocated with friends in Thillot. A temporary solution before being able to move into official accommodation available at the Rupt-sur-Moselle gendarmerie, where the father is assigned.

Very quickly, a chain of solidarity was deployed around the affected family. “An association even came to drop off boxes of clothes at my home in Éloyes,” notes Maïlyne Grisvard. “I have to sort the clothes by size. We received a lot of donations. »

Chickens and geese died in the fire

Needs remain to be met. The family is looking for dishes. “They couldn’t recover anything… But luckily they weren’t hurt.” They were sleeping. It was my seven and a half year old little sister who smelled the smoke and woke up the whole family screaming,” says the older sister who would like to find toys for the little girl.

“Today it’s difficult. Their morale was really bad because they had just finished work. Everything has been redone inside… Months of work have gone up in smoke. And my mother, who raises chickens and geese, lost animals that slept under the chalet,” says the eldest daughter.

She has just launched an online fundraiser (Leetchi collection, Rupt-sur-Moselle fire) in order to collect donations to help her loved ones who hope to be able to rebuild on this land which is dear to them.
