the essential
At 21, Noa Tourigny, born in Senlis in the region and arrived in as a child, became Mister Midi-Toulousain 2024 on October 27. He will fly to Paris for the final selection on January 25, 2025. Interview.

La Dépêche du Midi: How do you feel after all these emotions?

Noa Tourigny: Good. After a lot of emotions, I came back to earth. It has to be. The competition was tough and I am aware that the luck factor intervened.

You have just completed a degree in digital creation and design. How did you get into this competition?

Since childhood, modeling has driven my life. It is part of my daily life. Since my sister introduced me to this activity, I haven't stopped working. At 15, I did my first fashion show.

What do you like about this job?

I like his codes. I like being well dressed, fashion and beautiful clothes. I like the image sent to others.

Don't you find these aspects a little superficial?

No. I lost my mother when I was 13. Perhaps his death unconsciously pushed me towards this choice. A form of compensation and lightness to bear this sadness and pain.

You currently work as a salesperson at Histoire d'Or in . How do you see your professional future?

I have two very distinct plans: Plan A with modeling. I also continue to do photo shoots with a press agency in Toulouse. The opportunity to do fashion shows for e-commerce brands for the Portet shopping center. And plan B: work through my studies in design. A profession that ensures the future.

What are your other hobbies?

Maintaining my shape and my body is part of the daily life of my job as a model. So I do sports through bodybuilding and basketball. I also have more cultural tastes like the I listen to on repeat on my playlist. I follow the journey of young composers like Fredz, a young Quebec rapper-composer artist on the rise. I also like Theodort, the British singer Sam Brown, Elvis Presley and the song “Smalltown Boy”, by Bronski Beat. Music soothes me, escapes me.

How did the Mister France competition go?

During the September casting, we were 14 candidates from Toulouse. Eleven, including me, were selected. We passed an oral test and three parades (in street clothes, swimsuit and costume). I was pretty comfortable overall. Although for me, walking is easier than talking. I liked the atmosphere of this rather good-natured event. We got along well. The other candidates were happy with my success. At the end of the evening, we all went for a drink to conclude this unforgettable moment. Of course, everyone is there to win and there is always a bit of disappointment when you don't get anything.

How do you see the final in Paris?

Nothing is won. I am happy to go to Paris. I think I have a chance for this final turn even though I know the competition will be tough. In particular, I need to improve my speaking skills. Generally speaking, speech is important for expressing oneself and exchanging ideas. For our competition, it is a transmission of the values of Mister France. I am ready to face success by being as natural as possible.

What aspects do you think are necessary to make a good Mister France?

Authenticity, elegance, charisma, communication.

I also believe that you sponsor an association?

Yes. Delly, my mother, created the Kdlys association, which raises funds for the cause of disadvantaged children and women victims of domestic violence in Madagascar. This association is family. A way to express everything that everyone feels.

How do we, at 21, see our society?

Today's society is complicated for a young person. Housing, emotions, consumption, employment, etc. You have to fight to succeed. However, I am not really worried about this period. Many people are spokespersons and identify the situation. Answers are therefore possible.

As a young person, if you could, what would you like to change?

I find it bad to constantly scroll on cell phones. I do it too much myself. This addiction harms creativity. The cell phone is useful if you use it wisely. And for some time now, I have the impression that people are becoming aware of this.
