The cobbled streets of Bazouges-la-Pérousewest of Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine) trembled under the footsteps of more than 5,000 visitors in search of chills.
Thursday October 31, far from its peaceful daily life, the town transformed into a haunted maze where imagination took precedence over reality.
A distressing atmosphere
The cobblestone streets, lit by flickering candlelight, were lined with houses transformed into macabre decorations. Giant spider webs, skeletons suspended… every detail was taken care of to immerse visitors in a distressing atmosphere.
The path ofterrorthe centerpiece of the evening, kept all its promises. Participants were confronted with fantastic creatures larger than life: vampires with glowing eyes, witches with shrill laughter, staggering zombies…
I've been to many Halloween events, but this one surpasses anything I've seen so far. The atmosphere was incredible, the sets were neat, the characters were credible. It was a truly immersive experience.
At daybreak, when the first rays dissipate the mist and Bazouges regains its calm, the souls who wandered that night will keep, inscribed in their memory, the fleeting images of specters and monsters, of frozen laughter and lost murmurs.
Because on this October night, Bazouges accomplished the unexpected: making fear an art, terror a shared experience, and imagination a journey, an odyssey where each visitor, when leaving the village, does not can only whisper: “See you next year…”
