A thirty-year-old will be judged on December 13, 2024 by the criminal court of Versailles (Yvelines) for having set up a scam to social benefits. This man, presented by investigators as a seasoned offenderallegedly created false companies to issue, for a fee, various documents allowing third parties to benefit from various compensations, such as unemployment insurance.
A system based on false employment certificates
Environ 150 000 € would thus have been diverted. In March 2023, France Travail (which was then called Pôle emploi) discovered the deception and filed a complaint for “fraud” and “attempted fraud”.
The facts are located more particularly in Élancourt and its surroundings, where twenty-five people domiciled in the sector would have attempted, using false employment certificates, to dupe State services in order to receive undue social benefits. Some have succeeded.
The suspect already convicted for similar acts
Investigators identify a suspect behind the scheme. After his release from Bois-d'Arcy prison, where he had served a sentence for similar acts, the man settled in Chambray-lès-Tours (Indre-et-Loire). There, he created two fake companies, from which he issued the fraudulent documents. The facts would have taken place between 2018 and 2023.
Understandably, the beneficiaries remained evasive on the amount of compensation returned to the alleged crook. They will soon be summoned to court to be served with a penal order.
“Incriminating documents” found at his home
The October 28 Last year, the search of the home of the alleged mastermind of the scam revealed “numerous compromising documents”, according to a police source.
They would let it appear that this little trick would have made it possible to finance the lifestyle of his couple, allowing in particular to rent a house and cars.
During his police custodyhe would have admitted the facts. According to investigators, he also “organized his insolvency” in order to avoid any legal seizure.
