The painter exhibits his works at the App'art gallery until Saturday November 9. The septuagenarian paints “men” and dissects them through his imagination.
It is a ballet of games of spots, heights and consistencies, which is being played out this Sunday, October 27, at the App'art gallery. On the eve of the launch of Régis Mucheron's exhibition, it's time to hang. The volunteers and the artist are not idle. They installed around thirty works from Périgourdin, installed in Milhac-de-Nontron.
We warn you, there is no question of asking Régis Mucheron his approach. “It’s crazy to have an approach, it’s up to people to find a message if they want,” underlines the artist. He has been painting his works “out of obsession” for over 50 years. A former photographer, he stopped everything and sold everything. “The only photos I take are paintings, my cats and my grandchildren. » And in fact, these cats seem to interest him more than his exhibition. We thus learn that the 6-month-old little one wakes up his master every morning, and that the four-year-old adult was jealous of the little one. “For a long week, he came home. »
“All people are so complex”
The Périgord paints every day, at home, in his house. “I get up, I go down to my living room, and I paint everywhere. It's a hell of a mess, he admits. I only paint people. The guys are really interesting, there are the good ones, the bad ones, the vicious ones. I'm interested in everything. » Régis Mucheron attempts to dissect them in his works using his imagination. From dark to colorful, “according to its color stocks”, and in all formats. But why dissect them? “I discuss it with my doctor,” he smiles. The psychology of human beings is captivating. All people are so complex, we can't put them into boxes. »
