HEALTH. At the initiative of the Haute-Marne Departmental Council, the Le Bois-l'Abbesse association (disability respite platform) is organizing a day dedicated to caregivers, on November 5, in the presence of the French specialist in this topic.
Objective of this awareness day for support professionals: “Better understand the situation of caregivers, synergize skills to provide comprehensive and concerted support”explains the platform animation team (PFR).
It was in November 2022 that the caregiver respite platform based in Bologna opened its doors. The result of a partnership, it aims to support “non-professional caregivers” – family members, relatives – of people with disabilities. To allow them to express their difficulties, find solutions and breathe, groups of meetings between caregivers and activities are organized throughout the department, for example in Joinville, Saint-Dizier, or Fayl-Billot.

The awareness day will take place Tuesday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Niederberger room of the Haute-Marne Departmental Council, in Chaumont (access via rue du Capitaine-Tassard).
The program will be as follows: at 10 a.m., presentation of the PFR missions; at 10:15 a.m., conference by Dr Hélène Rossinot, on the theme: “Understanding, supporting and accompanying caregivers: instructions for support professionals”; at 11:15 a.m., presentation of the short film produced by the Departmental Youth Prevention Association (ADPJ), in partnership with the PFR PH 52; at 2 p.m., round table, with testimonies from caregivers; at 3:30 p.m., “forum theater” performance by the Compagnie des Joli(e)s Mômes; at 5 p.m., summary and conclusion.
Guest of honor at the event, Dr Rossinot is the French specialist in the issue of caregivers, to whom she dedicated her medical thesis. Originally from Nancy (she is the daughter of former mayor André Rossinot), awarded in 2020 by the National Academy of Medicine for her work, Hélène Rossinot is notably the author, in 2024, of the works “Taking care of caregivers” and “Guide for the caregiver”. She will sign her works between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
