The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education in Beni Mellal was involved in the case of the attack against a teacher working in a remote school branch.
In a report, the Directorate expressed its strong condemnation of the fact that a masked person broke into the professor’s residence through the roof window (the corner) to attempt to rape her at knifepoint, at small hours of Saturday morning October. 19, 2024.
The incident caused panic among the teacher, before the attacker fled to the screams and requests for help from the victim.
In the same report, the Directorate indicated that it became aware of the incident immediately after it occurred and that coordination was made with the authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie to provide the necessary support and open a investigation into this matter.
The Directorate also underlined the seriousness of this criminal act, emphasizing that such attacks negatively affect the security of educational settings, particularly in remote areas lacking the most basic means of protection.
The report comes after education unions launched an immediate appeal over the attack, demanding greater protection for women and men in education, particularly in remote rural areas.
