Some tips for listening to the bellowing of deer in the forest in the Landes

Thanks to the camera the association “Landes wildlife”you can see and hear the stag in full swing up close. On its Facebook page, the association shared this video (below) taken by a camera hidden in the woods of Mimizan. The majestic animal seems within reach before letting out its howl. Right now is a good time to go listen to the roar in the Landes forests. The deer pushes it to attract the does. Their reproduction will last until the end of October. So there are a few weeks left. But this is not so easy to observe.

Above all, the association advises against making the slightest noise near deer breeding grounds. The animal will never be aggressive with humans, but it is very easily frightened and the doe only stays in heat for a few hours. A deer that runs away is therefore potentially a disrupted reproductive cycle.. You must approach in silence, if possible with a specialist, such as a guide or a photographer. If you come by car, choose the daytime. The headlights could scare the animal.
