In Aveyron, this district will become a green lung: the transformation promises to be impressive

After the summer break, rehabilitation work on the Sablons island in (Aveyron) have started again since September 23! As a reminder, this project aims to create a green lung in the heart of the cityto improve the living environment and to enhance the old center with quality housing.

Started in March 2024, the demolition work on eleven buildings should free up nearly 1,300 m² of surface area. This freed space will be shared between a public space with an island of freshness et eight rehabilitated buildings with the creation of 14 accommodations (2 T1 bis – 5 T2 – 5 T3 – 2 T4, with outdoor space).

The investment to design this new district is shared between the city et the real estate developer Polygone.

A project in several phases

The construction site return schedule is now known. After the demolition of the buildings, the work is broken down into several phases and will stretch until the end of 2025. Since September 23, until the end of October, the company Veolia has been involved in the renewal and connection of drinking water pipes.

From mid-October to the end of November, Sieda will be responsible for burying the electrical and overhead line networks. Then, from early December 2024 has early July 2025the site will enter its central phase with in particular the installation of cranes and carrying out the structural worknamely the rehabilitation of 14 apartments.

Delivery expected by the end of 2025

Finally, from the beginning of July 2025 to the end of 2025, the second work will be launched by Polygone (electricity, plumbing, insulation, painting, etc.). At the same time, the City of Millau will ensure the landscaping of the square. Delivery apartments and green spaces are announced for the end of the year 2025.
