After a day of Thursday marked by red vigilance activated in six departments of France, the bulletins for this Friday are less severe. 18 sectors nevertheless remain orange.

18 departments in orange
While the All Saints’ Day holidays are closer than ever, the weather will remain capricious in a large part of the country. The southern half is impacted by an orange vigilance still affecting 18 departments for rain-flood and floods.
Occitania still affected
Occitania remains seriously affected by these weather alerts since 8 of its 13 departments are on orange alert, this Friday, October 18, 2024. It is, by far, the most impacted region by this alert level. Who is affected? For what reason? Here are the elements communicated by Météo France:
- Gard : floods
- Tarn : rain-flood
- Lot : rain-flood
- Tarn-et-Garonne : rain-flood
- Gers : rain-flood
- Haute-Garonne : rain-flood
- Ariège : rain-flood
- Hautes-Pyrénées : rain-flood
Yellow is also present
Finally, the yellow level is still very largely active : 43 departments are impacted by these alerts, which are also in effect for storms and submersion waves. This encompasses almost the entire southern half of Francewith the exception of Haute-Savoie, Cantal, Hautes-Alpes, Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales and Corse-du-Sud.
In Occitania, yellow is also triggered in Aveyron, Hérault and Lozère. The last of the three departments cited therefore saw its vigilance significantly downgraded, since it was in redthis Thursday October 17, 2024.
