The Government of Canada announces a contribution of $13.6 million to QSL projects in Sorel-Tracy and Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel

The Minister of Transport and President of the Treasury Board, Anita Anand, announced this morning, in Sorel-Tracy, a contribution of $13.6 million to two QSL projects: the modernization of its Saint-Joseph-de wharf -Sorel in which the company will invest $4 million and the construction of a floating dock in the industrial-port zone of Sorel-Tracy, an investment of $35 million.

The financial support from the Canadian government is an important milestone in the realization of our projects, declared the president and CEO of QSL, Robert Bellisle.

Some authorization processes are still ongoing. QSL estimates that the renovation of the Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel quay could begin in spring 2025. Work to develop the floating quay in the industrial-port zone of Sorel-Tracy, a project known since 2020-2021, is will begin in the fall of 2026. The project should generate more than 250 jobs during construction and around fifty hires including 30 direct jobs during operation. They are added to the team already at work.
