NÎMES Chico and the Gypsies in Paloma for a charity concert

In March 2023, the Nîmes bar organized a charity gala for the benefit of Unicef ​​to help Turkish children who were victims of the terrible earthquake that occurred on February 6. Among the artists present, guitarist Chico, founder of the Gipsy Kings, responded to requests from President Khadija Aoudia.

The lawyers of the Bar have decided to once again organize a charity concert, on Tuesday November 19 at 7 p.m. in the Paloma room, put on graciously by the president of Nîmes métropole Franck Proust. A day that is not chosen at random, the day before International Children’s Rights Day.

A day dating from November 20, 1989 with the signing of the international convention on the rights of the child in New York. And once again, Chico and his group, Chico and the Gypsies, agreed to respond. Jahloul Bouchikhi, his real name, is particularly sensitive to the cause of children because he was an ambassador to UNESCO for 25 years.

“Chico and the Gypsies who will perform the concert will be supported by many artists who are mobilizing for this event which I hope will be a success”enthuses Khadija Aoudia. The funds will be donated to the Unicef, Alphe and Aspie Family associations. A Nîmes association which supports families affected by autism.

The place is 10 euros and will allow you to be a member of the three associations for a renewable year. The Nîmes Bar has also decided to reserve 100 places for children placed in foster care and orphans.
