As part of its engagement in favor of sustainable development and energy transition, the SERAP group from Gorron in Mayenne (Society of Studies and Realization for Agriculture of Pontmain) has installed more than 1,300 solar panels on a footprint of 5,500 m2 on its Gorron site.

This installation with an annual production of 650,000 kWh will cover almost half of the site’s energy needs and will be overcapacity on good weather days and weekends.

The system functions as a local self-consumption loop of photovoltaic electricity. It is unique in , bringing together industrialists and individuals. It was called La Boucle du Bocage.

Before the end of 2024

This innovative project is the result of a collective reflection begun in the summer of 2023 with other Gorron companies including Maine Ateliers.

It will allow our employees and retirees to benefit directly from the solar energy produced on our site. A strong commitment to sustainability that will bear fruit before the end of 2024.”

“Thanks to this local loop ofself-consumptionour employees residing within a 10 km radius will be able to benefit from 100% green electricity at a preferential rate.

This initiative aims to improve the purchasing power of our collaborators while contributing to the reduction ofcarbon footprint of the Bocage Mayennais.

To date, 80 SERAP employees and retirees wish to join the adventure,” continues Arnaud Duchatelet, administrative and financial director, and director of human resources.

Always with the aim of reducing the bilan carboneSERAP has also increased the number of charging stations for its employees’ electric vehicles.

A model for the future

“SERAP hopes that this initiative will serve as a model for others companies wishing to engage in similar initiatives or who would like to join the Loop as a producer.

What is the SERAP group?
