ASCH with an air of revenge against Adour

A great poster for this 2025 Coupe des Landes final… Oh no, it’s only the round of 16, which will therefore see two teams from the highest level of Landes oppose each other. The conspiracy theorists would have found something to grind in their theories of cold balls or hot balls, but it is indeed chance that wanted it this way, to propose the same draw as last year at this same level of competition: the ADB and the ASCH, both residents of Nationale 2, will have to strike iron and at the end of this fight, one team will remain on the floor, from its entry into the running, this Friday (22 h 30) in Candresse.

This year, it is the Adour Basket which will receive this opposition. Is this an advantage? Ask the ASCH: with the benefit of the land in November 2023, the band at Lissalt had been corrected 51-82. A defeat which still has a strong taste of bitterness in the ranks of the Future. This Friday, a new chapter will be written. The new technician at the head of the ASCH, Rémy Condéranne, is well aware of this episode, but the context will be quite different: “It’s something we talked about of course from the draw, but also a very nice opportunity to give back. And even for a small point, I will take it! »

“Certainties and confidence”

The ex-coach of Réal Chalossais knows Dame Coupe well, having won it again two years ago (against… ASCH), and is therefore well aware of the qualities and ingredients to put forward to prepare such a encounter. “What bothers me is that this match is on a Friday evening at 10:30 p.m. I would have preferred Saturday or Sunday, but that’s how it is. We will prepare it with the greatest seriousness. We will have to play a better match than three weeks ago (76-66 victory in N2 at Horsarrieu), otherwise there will be no miracle. But the last performance in (76-83 victory) is very encouraging and will allow us to approach this match with a little more certainty and confidence. However, ADB is at home, leader of the championship with the best defense. He’s the favorite. »

The opposition will therefore be strong up front, with players with high potential in all positions. The championship meeting three weeks ago in the Horsarrieu arenas was a little frustrating for the residents of Grand Dax, who were defeated in overtime after leading the entire match. The ASCH, for its part, continues to progress and get into shape, and is coming off a great victory in Auch last Saturday. This Friday, the cards will be reshuffled, with only one watchword: may the best win!
