The Stop RRIR* residents’ collective on RD84 and the Sur Tous Les Fronts association are organizing a public information meeting at the Saint-Paul Cap de Joux village hall on October 17, 2024, from 8 p.m.
The subject of the meeting: the development project for the RD84 departmental road. “The Tarn department and the Occitanie region plan to transform the RD84, which crosses our villages, from Blan to Graulhet, via Puylaurens, St Paul-Cap-de-Joux and Damiatte, into a wide main road to accommodate thousands of heavy goods vehicles between Castelnaudary and Montauban and to make the town of Puylaurens a real road junction. »
“This project is progressing in the greatest opacity”explains the collective. “But a new bypass of Puylaurens is already being studied to give substance to this climate-killing road network, destructive of biodiversity, agricultural and natural land and generating nuisance for us, residents of the areas concerned. We ask to be informed and consulted on the advisability of the project”.
