In Haute-, the girls’ race broke a record by raising 38,000 euros

Friday, at the town hall of Brives-Charensac, the actors of the 17th edition of the Girls’ Race gathered for the traditional check presentation to the Haute- committee of the League against Cancer.

The Girls’ Race took place on Sunday September 8 on the banks of the Loire and, once again, sparked a strong mobilization. Without any particular constraints this year, with family, friends, associations or even businesses, the pink wave swept through and broke its own record.

A strong mobilization

Friday, at the town hall of Brives-Charensac, a check for 38,000 euros was given by Stéphane Clabaux, president of the Sports Office of the Puy-en-Velay agglomeration community, to the departmental representatives of the League against cancer . “Once again,” he said, “the women, from the youngest to the oldest, were wonderful and mobilized for this great cause.”

Hélène Bérard, departmental president of the League Against Cancer, recalled “how this solidarity action provided strong support for medical services”: purchase of cutting-edge equipment, screening and treatment, help for patients, caregivers, psychological support, support for sick women (massages, beauty treatments)… and this always in the department.

During this reception, Gilles Delabre, mayor of Brives-Charensac, expressed his pleasure at hosting this event in the town draped in pink for the occasion. “For a good cause, this event displays perfect communion between participants, organizers, local residents, partners…”.
Present at this reception, MP Laurent Wauquiez underlined “how strong it was to make this event something joyful together. Yes, sport protects against illness. Haute-Loire is a small department with a big heart! »

The next edition of the event will take place on Sunday September 14, 2025, still on the banks of the Loire in Brives-Charensac.
