Two women armed with iron bars entered the Roger Salengro school in Châteauneuf-les-Martigues this Tuesday morning by scaling the gate of the establishment which has 452 children. They locked themselves in an empty classroom. The children were confined.
The two women claimed that they were being chased by someone who wanted them harm, which turned out to be false.. Viewing the recordings from the video protection cameras made it possible to remove the doubt, contradicting the version of the two storytellers.
The Special Containment Safety Plan (PPMSC) was immediately triggered in the school to ensure the protection of students and staff, avoiding any potential hostage-taking. In less than an hour, the two madmen were taken care of by the firefighters.
“With everything that is happening, we are afraid”
A psychological unit is set up. The students returned to the normal course of their day.

The two women were interned at the Martigues psychiatric hospital for treatment. An investigation is underway.
