Inflation falls below 2% in Canada – M105 – FM 104.9

The year-over-year inflation rate for the month of September rose to 1.6% in Canada, down 0.4% from August.

The drop in gasoline prices has once again allowed this slowdown in price growth in Canada, according to Statistics Canada.

After two years of fighting inflation, the Bank of Canada succeeded in August in bringing the consumer price index within the limits of 2% that it had set for itself.

In Quebec, inflation increased from 1.5% in August to 1.3% in September.

The key rate is currently 4.25% and this economic data could decrease once again on October 23, while rate cuts occurred in July and September.
