Christian Clavier comes out of silence and speaks for the first time since the death of Michel Blanc

The death of Michel Blanc on October 3 left a feeling of emptiness for the members of Splendid. Yesterday, one of them broke the silence on his social networks. Christian Clavier has indeed posted a touching message, accompanied by a photo of his childhood friend.

A Splendid tribute. Almost two weeks after the death of Michel Blanc following an anaphylactic shock, his theater and cinema partner Christian Clavier came out of the silence and finally found the words to express his pain. Remaining discreet until now, the flagship actor of “Visitors” had not yet spoken personally.

“Always with us”

This Monday, October 14, the interpreter of Jérôme in “Les Bronzés”, who had met Michel Blanc on the benches of the Pasteur high school in Neuilly-sur-Seine, shared his sadness on his Instagram account. “Always with us,” he captioned it. A sentence accompanied by a wounded heart emoji, as if to symbolize his sorrow.

In this black and white photo, the actor from “Marche à l’ombre” is immortalized during his young years, when he did not yet sport the mustache that would allow him to stick to Jean-Claude Dusse’s skin , his most popular character. In shock, Gérard Jugnot was the first member of the Splendid troupe to react after the announcement of the actor’s death. “Damn Michel… What did you do to us…”, he shared on Instagram. Later in a press release, it was added: “The Troupe du Splendid – Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte, Bruno Moynot – join together with one and only voice to express their immense pain following the death of their friend and companion Michel Blanc.

A tribute for a star at the Lumière Festival

Last Saturday, after the entries of five-star guests at the Lumière de festival, such as Costa-Gavras, Monica Bellucci and Vanessa Paradis, the spotlights went out to pay tribute to another star. As a reference to the extinguishing of the lights (and the power) of the chairlifts in the cult scene of the film “Les Bronzés sont du ski”. Then stuck a few meters high, Michel Blanc sang the chorus of Star of Snow, which would later become one of his flagship lines. As a final bow to the actor, the 5,000 guests of the festival then took their turn singing “When will I see you again, wonderful country”.

Words which also resounded in the grounds of the Saint-Eustache church, where the funeral ceremony of the actor, who died at the age of 72, took place. A stranger then started singing this refrain after Josiane Balasko’s speech. A heady tune that the entire assembly took up in chorus, accompanied by the church organist.
