The reopening of Notre-Dame de is fast approaching. This Tuesday, October 15, the development project for the famous Parisian cathedral will be revealed to the public.

New work planned by the end of 2025. If Notre-Dame de Paris is to reopen its doors to the faithful and tourists on December 8, the surroundings of the cathedral will have to wait a little longer before being finalized. This Tuesday, October 15, the redevelopment project of the latter will be presented.

Among others present for this new major step for the cathedral ravaged by the flames, on April 15, 2019, will be the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, and Father Guillaume Normand, vice-rector of Notre-Dame.

A future green space

“This project around Notre-Dame Cathedral will create a future calm, peaceful and green space, for the benefit of all: residents, tourists, traders and restaurateurs,” said the city of Paris in a press release.

The latter was selected by a jury composed of “all stakeholders” and following a consultation. In addition, the town hall added that the project had been “refined and clarified within the framework of dialogue between the different actors”.

The City of Paris must submit a planning and building permit application in the coming days with the aim of launching work in the fall of 2025.
