Brazil aspires to raise its relations with Morocco to higher levels

Brazil aspires to raise its relations with Morocco, an important trading partner for the country, to higher levels, underlined, Monday in Rabat, the President of the Brazilian Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, on an official visit to Morocco.

“Morocco is an important trading partner for Brazil and we aspire to raise our bilateral relations to higher levels, particularly in the field of agri-food and the green economy,” said Mr. Pacheco in a statement. to the press following interviews with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita.

“Morocco and Brazil share the same climatic challenges and it is up to both nations to explore ways to address them and to engage in reflection on environmental issues,” noted Mr. Pacheco, adding that he had sent Moroccan officials an invitation at the COP 30 Summit, scheduled for 2025 in the Brazilian state of Parà in the Amazon.

The Brazilian official also welcomed the relaunch of the direct Casablanca-Sao Paulo air link from December 2024, stressing that the resumption of this service will strengthen integration between the two countries and increase the number of tourists in the two senses.

Trade between Morocco and Brazil, which is in the list of the Kingdom’s top ten trading partners, reached $2.65 billion in 2023 and amounted to $627 million at the end of April 2024.
