This October 13, 2024, the citizens of Brussels City are going to the polls in the 100 polling stations in the city, in order to elect the representatives of their municipality. A total of 49 seats are available. The elected officials will then serve for 6 years. Since the last electoral deadline in 2018, Philippe Close of the Socialist Party (PS) has been the chief magistrate of Brussels City. The president of the CPAS is Khalid Zian. There are 9 aldermen and 39 municipal councilors, from several political parties.

Thus, today there are 17 seats for the PS, 10 seats for the MR-VLD, 9 seats for Ecolo, 3 seats for DéFI, 3 seats for the PTB, 3 independent seats, 2 seats for Les Engagés-CD&V+, 1 seat for one.brussels and 1 seat for the N-VA. The aldermen from the PS party are then Ahmed El Ktibi, Faouzia Hariche, Delphine Houba, those from the Ecolo party are Bart Dhondt, Benoit Hellings, Zoubida Jellab, Arnaud Pinxteren. As for the DéFI party, it is represented by alderman Benhur Yusuf Ergen. Alderwoman Anaïs Maes belongs, for her part, to the one.brussels party. In addition, 39 municipal councilors complete the Council. There are 198,628 inhabitants in Brussels City, called Brussels residents. Brussels City is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital region. Six postal codes coexist in Brussels City: 1000 for Brussels-Pentagon, 1050 for the Louise Roosevelt axis, 1040 for the European Quarter, 1020 for Laeken, 1120 for Neder-Over-Heembeek and finally 1130 for Haren.
