The panoramic restaurant of the Salève cable car was presented for the first time on Thursday evening. The establishment will officially open its doors this Saturday with the ambition of building customer loyalty around local and seasonal products.

It has been awaited for years… The Salève cable car restaurant will finally open its doors to the public this Saturday.

Named “Vertiges”, the establishment, nestled above the arrival station of the Salève cable car, was unveiled to a few guests on Thursday evening.

With its 108 seats leaning against the bay windows and its unparalleled panorama overlooking Geneva and the lake, the dining room is sober and faithful to the plans as imagined 100 years ago by the Genevan architect Maurice Braillard.

On the plate, the bistronomic restaurant will focus on local and seasonal products, to try to build customer loyalty, beyond the effect of curiosity.

The establishment will operate as a mountain restaurant with high summer attendance.

The 10 permanent staff will be supplemented by seasonal workers and extras, depending on periods of activity. Among the difficulties: recruiting staff in the face of competition from Switzerland.

The “Vertiges” restaurant will open its doors from Thursday to Saturday, for lunch and dinner. And Sunday lunchtime until November 3, before cable car maintenance work.

Attention, reservation online required!
