This is a hard blow for the winter sports economy in the Jura. For this season 2024-2025the community of communes of Munster announced that the station Tanet will see its ski lifts remain turned off.

In fact, the community has not found buyers to manage the machines. The current manager has decided to step down after two years of management.

A first since 1960

It was in fact during a meeting on September 24 that the community of municipalities raised this point: Norbert Schickel, the president, specified in one sentence that there was an “absence of candidacy for the public service delegation” , as reported by our colleagues from Latest News from Alsace.

The first reason for this lack of offers is the fact that snow is increasingly rare in the region.

“There were around ten days of opening, which is very few compared to the years which preceded when there was more than double the opening” the president of the joint union for the development of the stations of the Munster valley, Monique Martin.

Operating costs would be around 60,000 euros according to Remiremontvallées.com.

It would therefore take a miracle to ski at Tanet this winter. Snowshoes and cross-country skiing will be highlighted.
