the number of places in hostels for young workers set to increase

A call for social projects was launched by the Department Prefecture.

In August 2024, -Atlantique had a capacity of 1 887 places in Young Workers’ Homes. “These places are at full occupancy” indicates the Loire-Atlantique Prefecture. The Foyers de Jeunes Travailleurs (FJT) welcome young people on the path to social and professional integration aged 16 to 30, the new places will be open before 2027.

Guarantee access to populations throughout the Department

“Priority will therefore be given to implementation projects in unfilled geographical areas (south of the department, coastline, etc.) based on a local study of needs” indicates the call for projects, in order to guarantee access for populations throughout the department. 15-29 year olds represent 18.3% of the population of Loire-Atlantique (17.6% at the national level, 17% at the regional level), and the share of young people aged 18-25 who are not integrated (unemployed and not following no studies) is 17.2% (compared to 21.3% in Metropolitan ). The selection criteria for candidates will be based in particular on “the developer’s experience in caring for vulnerable people and issues of access to housing”the territory of establishment, or even the quality of the project. Details of this call for projects are available from the Loire-Atlantique Prefecture. Applications can be submitted until November 10, 2024.
