End of mandate on the Security Council

His last mandate among the 47 members of the body ended five years ago. Since then, Bern has been able to participate in the discussions, without however voting on the draft resolutions. Switzerland had chosen not to seek membership in recent years, so as not to cause confusion with its candidacy for the Security Council in New York. However, her two-year mandate in the most powerful body of the UN system, which she is currently leading for one month, is coming to an end at the end of December.
