The headquarters of Benu pharmacies leaves Villars-sur-Glâne for Köniz – rts.ch

The Benu SA pharmacy group is moving its administrative center from Villars-sur-Glâne (FR) to Liebefeld, in the municipality of Köniz, in the Bernese suburbs. This decision is accompanied by the transfer of some 70 jobs.

The information published Wednesday by Freedom arises from a decision of the owner of this brand, Phoenix Pharma Switzerland. This is the subsidiary of the German Phoenix group, the European leader in the wholesale of pharmaceutical products.

The group’s strategy consists of bringing together the headquarters of four entities in Liebefeld: the Benu SA pharmacies in Villars-sur-Glâne, Phoenix Pharma Switzerland, Pharmapost and the online sales company Health and Life all in Unterentfelden (AG). This grouping will help support expansion objectives in Switzerland.

Gather resources

There are 70 employees from Villars-sur-Glâne, 40 of whom live in the canton of Fribourg, who will now work in Liebefeld, indicated Christophe Lamps, communications manager at Phoenix Pharma Switzerland. “The offices in Villars-sur-Glâne were no longer suitable because they were too small.”

The reasons for this transfer of headquarters are linked to the growth of the group and the desire to bring together the central administrative resources of four companies under one roof. It is also about facilitating collaboration with partners and customers, underlines the group.

Phoenix Pharma Switzerland employs around 1,000 people, 900 of whom work in Benu pharmacies, a brand founded in 1982 in Fribourg. Benu has around a hundred pharmacies throughout Switzerland.
