For several weeks, October 11 to November 24, 2024Belgian artist Carsten Höller beautified the famous Parisian square, as part of the artistic event Art Basel Parisand immerses us in his unique universe.
Symbol of power, architectural jewel, center of luxury jewelry: the Place Vendôme is one of the pearls of the capital. No wonder then, that tourists and lifelong Parisians love to come and walk there. You may think you know this place by heart… But have you seen the news art installation who adorns the place?
The fair ofArt Basel Paris is a major international meeting for all music enthusiastscontemporary artand it is also an opportunity to discover exceptional artists, thanks to the program “outside the walls” of the fair. On this occasion, free and open access exhibitions are organized in key sites in the capital.
This year once again, Place Vendôme becomes a showcase that welcomes the work of a world-renowned artist. And for this new edition, it is the work of Carsten Höller presented by Gagosianwhich was chosen. We therefore admire “Giant Triple Mushroom“, a monumental and astonishing installation, which brings fantasy and a touch of nature to the famous Parisian square.
Carsten Höller grows giant mushrooms in the heart of Paris: this sculpture of more than two meters tall is a mixture of three different mushrooms, cut and reassembled to show the evolution of the plant. With his creations, the Belgian artist pushes us to question reality, bringing magic and spirituality into very natural and scientific subjects.
