No tax on financial transactions to finance AVS

Glacier 3000 in Les Diablerets recorded a record 2023-2024 financial year. For the first time in their history, the ski lifts of the Vaudois Alps resort have exceeded the 200,000 visitor mark.

The group closed the financial year, on September 30, with a turnover, again record, of 19 million francs, it said Wednesday in a press release.

In detail, 50% of revenue comes from transport, 35% from accommodation, and 15% from catering. Skiing remains an important activity for the company and represents around 40% of the clientele, while pedestrians now prevail and represent 120,000 visitors, specifies Glacier 3000.

The “Peak Walk” suspension bridge on the peaks is the main reason for visiting this segment, which is still 40% Swiss. Appreciated for their positive impact on seasonality, international visitors complete the picture with 30% of Asian customers (China, India and South-East Asia in the lead), followed closely by the French and Americans, the group further notes.

Overture a priori on November 9th

Among the new features for the 2024/2025 season, the new Botta restaurant will open mid-November, with 400 seats and a panoramic roof terrace, and the Snow Park has been moved to the Scex Rouge area in order to improve freestyle skiing offer at the start of the season. On the slopes, the descent of Combe d’Audon has been widened in its narrowest passage in order to improve the skiing offer.

The opening of the ski area is scheduled for the weekend of November 9 depending on snow conditions, it is still indicated.

Created in 2005 during the purchase of the then bankrupt Glacier des Diablerets facilities, the Glacier 3000 group operates ten ski lifts, four restaurants and 350 beds spread across two hotel establishments. The company, open all year round, employs 170 people.
