It was a discovery that took everyone by surprise. For a few days, the La Meringue en Folie bakery, in the village of Saint-Germain-du-Crioult, delegated commune of Condé-en-Normandie (), closed its doors.

Two distributors without a supplier

It was the town hall of Caligny (Orne) which was one of the first to inform its residents from its PanneauPocket alerts and information service, the bakery supplying the bread distributor installed in the town since the end of 2022: “ To ensure the continuity of this much appreciated service, the municipality has taken over the rental of the machine. A new supplier has been found but will not be operational for about a week. » As a reminder, the bakery supplies another distributor, located in Saint-Germain-du-Crioult.

On the table of the Condé municipal council

The subject was raised during the municipal council of Condé-en-Normandie, Monday October 7, 2024. Sylvain Delange and the other members of the opposition list Act differently for Condé asked for the reasons for this closure and the potential financial repercussions to the community level.

“We don’t know any more than you,” replied Valérie Desquesne, who affirmed that neither letter nor email had been sent to the town hall. “I tried to contact them, to no avail. The tenants are subject to a commercial lease which runs until 2025. We will continue to ask them for rent. »

Despite several attempts, we were unable to contact the managers.
