In these eight towns in South Finistère, 250 traders will liven up their shops on Saturday October 12

This is a first: more than 250 traders from eight towns in Cornouaille, in South Finistère, are joining forces to participate in the National Day of Local Commerce, Crafts and Town Centers (JNCP). Thus, Saturday October 12, 2024, they will offer activities, in their shops and in the streets in , Briec, Rosporden, Audierne, Ploneour-Lanvern, Pont-l’Abbé, Le Guilvinec and Fouesnant. There will also be tastings.

With a guideline: “Create and recreate the link between merchants and customers, take the time… This day is anything but a day of commercial promotion”summarizes Marie Birou, from the Cornish delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The institution coordinates the initiative here, via the Lokalon club (the local at heart).

Workshops and activities

“We have three objectives: to make our businesses known, because they are not always known; talk about our professions and our jobs; and also explain that we work locally. For example, for us, at Goûter bigouden, 100% of our suppliers are French, 77% are from Finistère, and 25% are from Ploneour”illustrates Yves Le Petitcorps, director of Goûter bigouden and member of the Union of Ploneour-Lanvern traders.

Workshops will be offered. For example: napkin folding, makeup workshop, pumpkin shaping workshop… Participating businesses will be recognizable by the flag installed in front of their entrance. Raffles, pancakes, bagad… will liven up the streets here and there depending on the city and town. Finally, on November 14, to echo this day, three prizes will be awarded to traders, in the premises of the CCI.
