Kaolack, Oct 7 (APS) – The governor of the Kaolack (center) region, Mohamadou Moctar Watt, called on Monday for local authorities to make resources available to the school, with a view to helping win the battle for development.

”It is also the responsibility of local authorities to make resources available to schools, in general. Because if we want to win the battle for development, many resources will necessarily have to be mobilized and made available to the education sector. This is decisive,” he said.

Speaking during the traditional back-to-school tour, the administrative authority renewed its appeal to mayors and departmental council presidents to ask them to do everything possible for an effective return to school across the territory. regional.

”For more than a week, the firefighters have been hard at work. But we have noticed a resumption of rain, it is a hazard that we cannot control. And, in this regard, it is necessary for local authorities to be alert and able to demonstrate proactivity in order to always be able to respond and satisfy the demands of the populations,” launched Mr. Watt.

At the head of a strong delegation made up of administrative, academic and school authorities, representatives of parent-teacher associations, trade union organizations and other stakeholders in the education system, the head of the regional executive visited some schools to see the effectiveness of the start of the school year.

“When drawing a provisional assessment, there is a feeling of satisfaction, given what we have observed, what we have seen on the ground,” the governor underlined. He went to the Ibrahima Diouf high school in Bongré, the Mboutou Sow school in Léona and the Moussa Sow school complex in Kassaville, where he noticed the effectiveness of the courses, with a “satisfactory” presence. ‘ students.

However, he noted that sanitation work is still continuing in school grounds.
