Missing student’s roommate collaborated with police

At this time, the police are not holding anything against Alexandra Martine’s roommate Diengo Lumbayi. He dropped her off at Saint-Quentin Island on October 2, the last time she was seen.

“The roommate was the one who sent us the initial complaint. He was met by investigators,” confirms spokesperson Luc Mongrain.

Summary of the facts: the 21-year-old student was last seen on the cameras of Saint-Quentin Island on Wednesday October 2 around 4:10 p.m. She was alone when she was captured on at least four occasions . The last time, she was heading towards a wooded area on the island.

Since then, no one has seen her again and her mother launched a heartfelt cry on the social network TikTok from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Research

Several field searches took place on Sunday on Saint-Quentin Island, notably with the assistance of divers from the Sûreté du Québec, without finding the business administration student. Monday was much quieter, but The Nouvelliste noted the presence of at least one police vehicle.

“At the end of the morning today, patrollers and an investigator began a field sweep, in the Trois-Rivières marina sector, in order to validate certain information received,” indicates a press release from Trois-Rivières police press.

For her part, the general director of the Saint-Quentin Island park Josée-Anne Labrousse affirms that the staff is wholeheartedly with the family and friends of the deceased. All the park can do at this time is to facilitate access to anything that can advance the investigation.

“We participate in the police effort as best we can…” she lets it slip.

The General Association of Students (AGE) is not behind this initiative, but invites students to wear green on Tuesday as a sign of support.

“It’s really a color of hope and solidarity,” says AGE communications coordinator Élodie Gagnon.

It is not excluded that other actions will be coordinated. Rector Christian Blanchette, for his part, showed concern.

“We sent the message to the entire community of Congolese students, international students and friends of this student that services can accommodate them to help them get through this difficult moment even if we do not know where she is. Right now. It’s still the anxiety that is there at the moment. We think of them and our services are there to welcome them,” he declared on the sidelines of a press conference.

Any information that could help investigators locate Alexandra Martine Diengo Lumbayi can be communicated to (819) 691-2929, extension 6.

“At this moment, all hypotheses remain possible to explain the disappearance of Miss Diengo Lumbayi,” indicates the Trois-Rivières police.
