The Valais Fair brings together more than 245,000 visitors and 150 mules – rts.ch

The Valais Fair attracted 245,112 visitors, announced its organizers on Sunday. This 64th edition, marked by the Swiss mule cup championship, has just ended after ten days of celebration.

The number of visitors equaled and sometimes even exceeded the record figures for 2023 during the week and on Sundays, the organizers write in a press release.

However, the total attendance remains slightly below last year, due to a drop in attendance on Saturdays. This year’s gloomy weather had no impact on overall attendance, officials said.

“Swiss Mule Cutting Championship”

Among the unusual events of this edition, the Foire du Valais was the scene of the first edition of the “Swiss mule cutting championship”. The competition was organized in the form of an online vote, which accumulated nearly 11,000 votes, and a parade on Sunday. More than 150 people, including 20 women, participated.

They specified that the winner of this “Swiss Mullet Cup”, Kilian Wicht, will participate next year in the European Mullet Cup Championship, scheduled in .

In second place, Marjorie Kapelusz was named favorite, and the young Luca Chevalier, born in 2010, came third.
