The Erard Festival was born in 2022, at the initiative of Saskia Lethiec and Jérôme Granjon. A precious event which sees the Erard room open its doors to music every year. After César Franck in 2022, from Chausson to Ravel last year, the 2024 edition has the theme “Fauré, Debussy, Verlaine: Fêtes galantes”. Once again a great bath of French music awaits music lovers in a place steeped in history whose name remains closely associated with the glorious days of the National Music Society.
Performers such as Hedwige Parat, Jean-François Novelli (photo), Philomène Mitaine, Françoise de Maubus, Saskia Lethiec, Takashi Hamano, Vinciane Béranger, David, Louwerse, Jérôme Granjon, Mirai Sumino, Ylies Boufadden, Mélisande Daudet and Victor Dutot will defend programs which, for three of them (Oct 11 ., Oct. 12, 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), subtly mix instrumental music and melody (including The Good Song, in its quintet version, by Novelli).
Faithful as in the two previous editions to the Erard Festival, the Chœur de la Maîtrise de Paris-CRR (dir. Edwige Parat + Clémence Chabrand on piano) will be there on Sunday 13 (11 a.m.) in Fauré and Debussy. If these two authors occupy the entire program of young singers, we note everywhere else the presence of other names, such as Laparra, De Grandval, Hahn, Gounod. After an introduction to vocal material, Sunday will end (5 p.m.) with an entirely chamber concert bringing together late opuses by Saint-Saëns (the so beautiful and too rare Sonata for bassoon and piano), Debussy, Boulanger and Fauré (the 2d Quintet op. 115) .
