President Bassirou Diomaye Faye reassures the IMF

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye reacted this Sunday, October 6, 2024 to the publication of the provisional results of the audit of Senegal’s public finances, covering the 2012-2024 management period. In a message published on his X account (formerly Twitter), the Head of State was keen to underline the importance of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in this crucial exercise of transparency and good governance.

« I salute the collaborative spirit of the IMF, following the disclosure of the provisional results of the audit of Senegal’s public finances, after the 2012-2024 management. I reaffirm my firm commitment, as I said when I took the oath, to making Senegal a secure and reliable partner », Wrote Bassirou Diomaye Faye. A declaration which comes in a context of high expectations on the management of the country’s public finances, while the audit commissioned by the IMF aims to assess the effectiveness and integrity of economic management under previous administrations. President Faye, who took the reins of the country with the promise of restoring the confidence of economic and financial partners, seems determined to strengthen Senegal’s credibility on the international scene.
