The age of the suspect is of concern. It’s even shocking. As we revealed on Friday, a man was found shot dead, behind the wheel of a vehicle, in what initially appeared to be a road accident, during the night from Thursday to Friday in the center of Marseille (Bouches-du -Rhône). The alleged perpetrator of the murder, who allegedly carried out the dirty work of a sponsor in prison, would be only 14 years old.
What happened?
During the night from Thursday to Friday, emergency services were alerted that a car had crashed into the wall of a primary school near Saint-Charles station, in the center of the Marseille city. They initially thought it was a road accident but quickly discovered that the deceased driver had a wound to the back of his head. A 9mm warhead was also found alongside him.
Witnesses also saw the person initially seated in the passenger seat flee.
Who is the alleged mastermind of the murder?
A few hours after the discovery of the body, as we explained on Friday, the police received a call from a man claiming to be part of the DZ mafia, one of the main gangs involved in Marseille drug trafficking. He explained to them that he had ordered the murder.
The detainee told the police the motive for this homicide, which was intended to avenge the murder of a minor committed shortly before. On the night of Tuesday October 2 to Wednesday October 3 in the northern districts of Marseille, the body of a young victim, who had a gunshot wound to the chest, had in fact been left by several hooded people, according to witnesses, before ‘to be calcined.
An investigation was opened for “organized gang assassination”, “criminal association” and “destruction of vehicle by fire”, indicated the Marseille prosecutor’s office. She was turned over to the city’s Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).
A 14 year old boy paid to kill?
But the alleged sponsor who calls the police has other revelations to make. From his prison, he chose to denounce the person who allegedly committed the murder on Thursday evening. And according to our information, it would be a 14-year-old teenager, from Avignon. Why this denunciation? Because the sponsor is allegedly unhappy with the boy’s mission, a source close to the matter confides to Le Parisien.
This young suspect was placed in police custody. He should be presented to an investigating judge this Sunday.
Our colleagues from France 3 put forward the fact that the young suspect had not set fire to the victim’s vehicle, as clearly planned. Questioned by the channel, the national spokesperson for the Alliance Police union assured that he had never seen such a scenario in more than 25 years in Marseille. The public prosecutor is due to speak on this matter on Sunday morning.
