A commitment to Stability and Cooperation – Le7tv.ma

This Friday, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, reaffirmed with conviction Spain’s position in favor of the “strategic partnership” between the European Union and Morocco, in the context of the decision rendered by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) concerning agricultural and fisheries agreements. While respecting this legal decision, Mr. Albares vigorously defended the need to maintain and strengthen this essential relationship, emphasizing the mutual benefits it has provided to both parties.

Mr Albares, known for his commitment to balanced and constructive diplomacy, clearly highlighted the vital importance of this partnership for the EU and Morocco. He recalled that the agricultural and fishing sectors, at the heart of the bilateral agreements, have benefited greatly from this cooperation, both economically and socially. The Spanish minister insisted that the relationship with the Kingdom of Morocco, beyond commercial aspects, is a fundamental pillar for stability and prosperity in the region.

In a statement hailed for its foresight, the head of Spanish diplomacy reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continuing dialogue with the EU and Morocco. This commitment shows Spain’s determination to play a key role in preserving this privileged relationship, essential for both shores of the Mediterranean. According to José Manuel Albares, the continuity of this cooperation is essential not only to guarantee the economic interests of both parties, but also to maintain a political and security balance in the region.

This declaration comes in a context where Morocco and Spain share a common vision of a more stable, more prosperous and more united Mediterranean. Mr. Albares’ unwavering support for this strategic relationship is further proof that Spain is determined to work hand in hand with Morocco, thus contributing to strengthening the diplomatic, economic and human ties that unite the two countries.

The minister also spoke of the need for the European Union to continue to consider Morocco as a first-rate strategic partner. According to him, maintaining this exemplary relationship is not only a question of economic interests, but also a political imperative for a region where Morocco plays a central role in security, stability and international cooperation.

By firmly defending the EU-Morocco partnership, José Manuel Albares showed that Spain, far from simply following the legal path, intends to actively work so that this relationship continues to prosper. This message resonates forcefully at a time when cooperation between the EU and Morocco is more essential than ever to meet common economic, social and security challenges.

Thus, José Manuel Albares’ statement is an eloquent testimony to Spain’s unwavering support for Morocco and a long-term commitment to cooperation that has proven, again and again, its crucial importance for the region.
