A car drives at more than 120 km/h and leaves four people injured, the driver flees

Lhe four occupants of a car were injured during a swerve at more than 120 km/h in a built-up area on Thursday evening in Tubize, we learned on Friday from the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office.

Rescuers and police were called to intervene, Thursday evening around 9:45 p.m., in rue des Frères Taymans, in Tubize, where a serious road accident had just occurred.

A single Alfa Romeo car involved hit a curb, then a pole, before hitting two parked vehicles which were thrown against homes.

The driver of the car involved fled.

The three passengers aged between 16 and 25, all from Tubize, were injured to varying degrees and taken to hospital. One of the victims suffered a skull fracture.

“None of the injured were in danger of death this Friday morning. Based on the traces of blood found on his seat, the driver was also apparently injured. He had not yet been arrested as of Friday noon,” indicated the spokesperson for the Walloon Brabant public prosecutor’s office.

If the circumstances of the swerve have yet to be determined precisely, the automobile forensic expert dispatched to the scene has already provided some elements.

“The car was traveling at more than 120 km/h even though we were in a built-up area. The vehicle had false registration plates, was neither insured nor in technical inspection order. The three passengers tested positive for drugs and do not hold a driving license,” added the spokesperson for the prosecution.
