Actress Pamela Anderson, known for her role in “Baywatch”, received the Golden Eye Award on Friday evening at the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), rewarding a multifaceted career. Her latest film, “The Last Showgirl”, premiered in Zurich.
Presenting the award to the American-Canadian actress, festival director Christian Jungen congratulated her for her “Oscar-worthy performance” in “The Last Showgirl”. “Pamela Anderson plays so well that you forget the person behind the character,” he added.
The 57-year-old actress explained that she played herself in Gia Coppola Anderson’s feature film, that of a 50-year-old cabaret dancer at the end of her career who must save her relationship with her daughter. “When I read the script, I said to myself: ‘That’s me. No one else can play this role.’

“We all have value, even in our 50s,” said Pamela Anderson, adding: “You can destroy a building, but not a person.”
She then took part in a debate with ZFF presenter Tanya König, after which she left the room in silence, leaving an impressed audience behind.
