Offshore wind: Belgium lacks space in the North Sea, says WWF

Our country will not achieve its objectives for deploying offshore wind turbines in 2030 and 2040, due to not being able to devote enough space to them, according to the NGO.

Saccording to a report published this Thursday by the WWF, our country has not allocated enough space to the deployment of offshore wind power to achieve the objectives it has set for 2030 and 2040. Out of ten European countries studied by the environmental NGO, Belgium would even be the only one which would not be able to fulfill its commitments in this area. However, these wind turbines are an essential milestone in the energy transition agenda which should lead our country to carbon neutrality in 2050.
