A 23rd edition marked by Olympism

If doesn’t go to the tropics, it’s the tropics that are coming to Paris! The Tropical Carnival is therefore making a comeback in the capital. For this 23e edition, the union between Olympism and Overseas is in the spotlight. Colorful dancers to the wild sounds of brass, chacha, makyé, boula and drums: a grandiose spectacle is being prepared. An unmissable event to experience live on Sunday October 6 from 2 p.m. on La1ere.fr and .tv.

We can’t stop celebrating the Overseas Territories in the capital, and we think it’s great! In this Olympic year, the Tropical Carnival parade has a special flavor. Initially scheduled for July, the capital’s biggest carnival was postponed to October due to the Paris 2024 Games.

The Tropical Carnival is the unmissable meeting place for lovers of overseas territoriesits diversity, its plurality and its cultural richness, but also one of the biggest Parisian events. These are nearly 200,000 people Who meet every year to discover the carnival traditions of Overseas and the world, mixing incredible traditional outfits with instruments with transcendent rhythm.

A show that will bring together twenty groups of carnival peoplesuch as Churay Churay (Peru), Corporal my old Saint Simon (Bolivia) or Ethnick 97 (Antilles-Guyana), who came from the four corners of the world for the occasion.

And that’s not all! For the sixth consecutive time, the Tropical Carnival will begin at Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées. The Olympic epee fencing vice-champion Yannick Borel and the multiple world champion and Olympic foil champion Enzo Lefort will kick off of this spectacular parade alongside the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

The parades will go up to theArch of triumph before returning to the Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées where the troops who perform the best will be rewarded.
