The 2025 draft budget for the canton of Jura results in a deficit of 5.3 million francs. The Government had to continue implementing savings measures to achieve this result which respects the debt brake.

‘It is a budget without shares of the Swiss National Bank (SNB)’, underlined Thursday the Jura Minister of Finance Rosalie Beuret Siess. It is because of the uncertainties in the financial markets that the Government has decided not to include any payments.

In the financial plan, revenues from the BNS were still estimated at 22 million francs for 2025. To compensate for this shortfall, the Government continued to apply the savings measures of the 22-26 Balance Plan so that They deploy their effects for some 37 million.

“It is an extremely demanding exercise and the Government has taken its responsibilities,” noted the Jura minister who added that the canton could no longer count on the budgetary policy reserve which was dissolved.
