A new list of trendy names for the little ones of 2023 has been released and you can now discover those that the new generation is likely to hear repeatedly in class, in a few years!
The new annual list from Statistics Canada’s Baby Name Observatory was recently released and highlights the 20 most popular male and female names over the past year.
This classification was established using the Canadian Vital Statistics Database – Birth from Statistics Canada and the First Name Bank from Retraite Québec.

What you need to know: Among girls, Olivia’s first name rises to the top of the ranking in 2023, with 1,650 new people having been named that way last year.
This name was also parents’ favorite in 2021 and 2022, again according to Statistics Canada. Furthermore, Emma also remains the favorite second name among girls, as does Charlotte in third place.
