Created on October 14, 2023, the association today has nearly 800 members. “With more than 1,000 registered on our Facebook page and only 4 elected from the entire council of Noues-de-Sienne”, specifies Pascal Coutrot the president. This last year, the members of the office have in fact increased contacts with the inhabitants of the territory on their objective, have approached experts and craftsmen, and met various representatives of local, departmental and regional authorities, questioned on numerous occasions the municipality of Noues-de-Sienne and even the deputy, Elisabeth Borne.

“No comparative quotes”

However, since its creation, the association seems to meet some difficulties communication with the municipality of Noues-de-Sienne. According to its representatives, the municipal majority would block proposals and other requests for documents. She would remain “fuzzy” in her statements.

» From 2023, we have asked for a new public contract to be launched for the repair of the swimming pool at a minimum. The elected officials initially stated that the repair work would cost 2 million euros with operating costs announced at 3 times the cost actually paid by the municipality. Then 1.8 million. Now, they claim that the repair work on the swimming pool would cost more than a million… If they are so vague it is because they do not have the comparative quotes necessary for the minimum repair and that “They want to bury the summer swimming pool since they suddenly closed it in June 2022 without ever doing anything since to save it.”

The president recalls that the elected officials had started on a “pharaonic” project to 3 million euros. Abandoned project for which €64,000 of study was nevertheless spent. The closure of the swimming pool would have led to cancellations of reservations in local lodges.

According to Pascal Coutrot, the association was not mentioned once in the Newsletters, the municipality refused to allow the association to participate in the Sports and Leisure day organized on June 1st. The association has not yet been registered on the Noues-de-Sienne site either.

“Repair work”

At the end of the presentation, encouraged by the assembly which gave some ideas for future actions, the members of the association decided to continue their work. » We will ask to have access to quotes of repairs to 1 million euros and ask that a tender as quickly as possible before everything is out of order at the swimming pool and requires increasingly extensive repair work. But we must respect the institutions and go through all the legal steps. You have to put pressure on but remain correct. There are swimming pools smaller than ours that work. Nobody wants a 4 star swimming pool ; we want a functional swimming pool where people have a good time and children learn to swim,” underlines Pascal Coutrot who plans to contact the IVN soon.
