A hundred bales of straw catch fire in an agricultural building in Isère, farm animals evacuated

A fire broke out in an agricultural building in Ruy-Montceau, near Bourgoin-Jallieu, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, October 1. A hundred bales of straw caught fire. The fire brigade’s intervention lasted all night. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Isère firefighters responded to a fire in an agricultural building in Ruy-Montceau near Bourgoin-Jallieu, in the north of Isère. Some 140 bales of straw caught fire. When firefighters arrived on site, around 9:40 p.m., the building housing the straw bales was completely engulfed in flames.

The firefighters’ action was to limit the spread of the fire to neighboring buildings and above all to protect the farm animals. They were released during the night in the nearby field. No injuries were reported.

The intervention lasted all night and this Tuesday morning, firefighters are still on site to monitor possible flames on the bales. The origin of the fire is currently undetermined.
