Mhidia decrees the liquidation of Casa Patrimoine

It’s done. The wali of Casablanca, Mohamed Mhidia, activated the process of dissolving the local development company (SDL) Casa Patrimoine. This is what the daily says Al Ahdath Al Maghribia in its edition of Tuesday October 1, specifying that this measure was taken during a general assembly chaired by Mhidia.

“The in-depth analysis of the role, situation and cost of the SDL led to the observation of its total uselessness”, we read. The decision was submitted to the City Council which will have to render its verdict during its October session, scheduled for next Thursday.

«Casa Patrimoine will thus be the first among the SDLs in the process of liquidation, the investments which were injected there having proved unsuccessful. In a logic of optimization, other SDLs will have to merge, lit-on.

Armed arm of the town hall dedicated to the safeguarding and rehabilitation of the tangible, intangible and natural cultural heritage of the city, Casa Patrimoine is said to have been slow to realize several projects launched and financed within the framework of agreements signed with the Councils of local authorities, the ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Culture. These include the upgrading of the historic city center, the rehabilitation of the historic Botbol, El Glaoui, Sumica and Tazi passages, and the restoration of the facades of Boulevard Mohammed V.

Most of these projects have been suspended. In the end, millions of dirhams were spent without any impact on the development of the city and the promotion of its image.

Once the liquidation of Casa Patrimoine has been completed, the elected officials of the City Council will have to designate the entity which will take over, which will in all likelihood be SDL Casa Aménagement. Its primary mission will be to honor the commitments made by Casa Patrimoine within the framework of agreements with local authorities and other institutional partners.
