Banque de and the economy: handover

The latest economic update for the Banque de was marked by the handover between Laurence Kin-Ropers and Patrice Cartelier, his successor.

The traditional start-up point for economic news, on September 24 at Signe in , had a particular flavor. Certainly, Laurence Kin-Ropers was present to welcome her guests, who came in greater numbers than usual. But it was not she who presented the figures and trends: Patrice Cartelier, her successor, launched into the exercise, in the presence of Laurent Sahuquet, regional director of the Banque de France .

This handover is a first in Haute- since the prestigious establishment established in our department since 1868 has had 38 directors and only one director, and she is leaving: Laurence Kin-Ropers becomes banking controller in .

As for the economic point, entitled “what landing for 2024, what prospects for 2025?”, Patrice Cartelier fulfilled it, even before officially being in office, and by discovering the data from the Grand Est when he was coming just from .

As is often the case in such circumstances, the regional situation received particular attention. Since the end of 2023, in the industry, profitability has been maintained and profitability has been supported by well-oriented financial results. Debt is under control and investments remain dynamic. In market services, we observe a decline in results related to activity. The debt rate is falling. The trade shows a slight decline in performance. We observe a reduction in the debt ratio and an increase in investments.

There have been 4,319 business failures in the Grand Est over the last twelve months. This is higher than the average calculated over a long period. But Haute-Marne is doing a little better than the other departments in the region. For us, the 101 failures over the last twelve months certainly reflect an increase, but this remains just below the average over a long period.
