HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chairs the opening of the 15th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show

El Jadida – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid chaired, Monday at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center, the opening ceremony of the fifteenth edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, which will continue until October 6 under the theme “Equine breeding in Morocco: Innovation and challenge”.

On his arrival at the Exhibition Center, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was welcomed by Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), before reviewing a section of the Auxiliary Forces which rendered the honors.

His Royal Highness was then greeted by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohammed Sadiki, the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Governor of the Casablanca prefecture, Mohamed Mhidia, the president of the region’s Council, Abdellatif Maazouz, and the interim governor of the province of El Jadida, Mohamed Samir El Khamlichi.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by the president of the Provincial Council, the president of the commune of Haouzia, the members of the Board of Directors of the Horse Show Association, the representatives of the sponsors of the Show, as well as by executives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests.

At the entrance to the Exhibition Hall, His Royal Highness was greeted by Mr. Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Morocco, Sheikh Dr. Ammar Bin Nasser Al Mualla, of the UAE, the Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of “Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority” (EEAU), Mr. Mohamed Ahmad Al Harbi, Director General of the Purebred Arabian Horse Association (EEAU), Mr. Issa Ben Mohammed Al Mohannadi , president of the Racing and Riding Club (Qatari Equestrian Federation), and Mr. Salim Al Barak, president of the Arab Horse Organization (Saudi Arabia).

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid subsequently toured through the different spaces and villages of the Show, dedicated to sponsors, institutions, breeders, crafts, international, art and culture , and to the regions of the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness then attended, at the main quarry, shows, artistic performances and equestrian aerobatics performed by Moroccan and foreign troops and riders.

Subsequently, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid headed to the Tbourida quarry where he followed fantasia shows hosted by 18 Sorbas representing the different regions of the Kingdom.

On this occasion, His Royal Highness posed for a souvenir photo with the Moqaddems of these Sorbas.

Organized under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the El Jadida Horse Show, which has become over the years a mandatory platform for meetings and exchanges between the different stakeholders in the equine sector, allows to highlight the rich equine cultural heritage of the Kingdom and the multiple uses of the horse at sporting, cultural or festive levels.

This flagship event highlights the special place occupied by the horse, this divine creature, in history and national cultural identity and in collective memory.

Initiated by the Horse Show Association, this event, which has acquired an ever-growing national and international reputation, offers a rich and diverse scientific, cultural and fun program.

Thus, several horse-related activities are organized there as part of high-level competitions or exhibitions: the Bearded Horse Champions Cup, the Arabian-Beard Horse Champions Cup, the International Show A of Purebred Arabians, the Moroccan Cup for Purebred Arabian Horse Breeders, the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Show Jumping and of course the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Tbourida.

The cultural and scientific aspects are not left out, because the horse will be scrutinized during numerous conferences, workshops and round tables, as well as during multiple fun activities reserved for young audiences.
