Follow the Republic of Seine et Marne
It was a few hours of anguish for the family ofan 85 year old manrecently admitted to the public geriatric establishment from Jouarre, in Seine-et-Marne.
The patient, suffering fromAlzheimerhad previously hidden in the premises. He again eluded the surveillance of the medical staff, this time escaping from the site, attached to the Grand Hôpital de l’Est Francilien (GHEF).
Disappearance
His disappearance was observed in his room during the afternoon of Friday, September 21, 2024: the gendarmes were alerted early in the evening. At nightfall, six soldiers, helped by the missing man’s relatives, were mobilized to find him.
The octogenarian had in fact surrendered in the city center. He was sat on a bench to attend a public performance, given as part of the town’s festivities. He was able to be taken care of around 8:30 p.m. Fortunately, he is safe and sound.
